The waterfall Jeep trip lets you enjoy the scenery and local stories while the guide drives. The UTV puts you behind the wheel of a side-by-side, following the guide into the mountains. Both depart from Maggie Valley, keeping the outing close to your valley hotel.
The UTV has side-by-side seating and a steering wheel. You travel with your own party, following the guide along the scheduled route.
Spend around 3.5–4 hours with a driver-guide on an outing combining waterfall scenery, Cherokee-area history and mountain viewpoints. The trip starts at Scenic Tours and Adventures in Maggie Valley, making it easy to fit into a two-day stay.
This is our pick for visitors who want a guided sightseeing day without driving the mountain roads. Historic buildings and elk country are the focus of the separate Cataloochee Valley plan.
Follow the guide in your party’s side-by-side for around 2.5–3 hours. Vehicle rental and fuel are listed as included. Choose this ride when taking the wheel is part of the fun.
Drivers must be 21 or older and bring a valid US driving license and US auto-insurance proof. A provider-arranged driver may be available by request; otherwise, choose the Jeep for a driver-led experience. Children under two cannot join the featured UTV trip.
Both featured experiences meet at Scenic Tours and Adventures, 2961 Soco Road. Use the arrival time on your booking confirmation; the UTV listing requests arrival at least 20 minutes before departure. Leave room in the day for parking and check-in rather than scheduling another attraction right up to the tour.
Bring closed shoes, a warmer layer, water and a camera. Open vehicles and high ridges feel cooler than the valley. The route is chosen by the operator: a guided UTV booking is not permission to drive freely on national-park trails.
For two full days, put the tour on one morning and Wheels Through Time on the other, subject to the museum calendar. Keep Waterrock Knob for a clear afternoon. That gives you a vehicle experience, an in-town attraction and a separate scenic stop without repeating a long drive.
A hotel on Soco Road keeps the meeting point convenient. Meadowlark Motel and Smoky Falls Lodge suit this stretch of the valley; Jonathan Creek Inn adds an indoor pool and a creekside base farther west. Compare all six hotels before choosing your dates.
Compare creekside rooms, indoor pools and a stay near the museum. Choose the hotel for the way you want to travel.
These activities start near Bryson City or at the NOC Nantahala campus. Allow for the drive, check-in and return; Maggie Valley hotel pickup is not included.
Spend around three hours on a guided waterfall hike near Bryson City. Choose this for walking and guiding, with a two-person minimum booking.
Paddle Class II–III rapids with a river guide. Make the Nantahala Gorge the main outing of the day, with time for the drive from Maggie Valley.
A guided canopy adventure finishing with a half-mile zip line. Choose it for a dedicated adventure day with older children or adults.
